Welcome to the Energy Management Web site.

Energy Management represents M-DCPS’ organized strategic effort to reduce the consumption of non-renewable energy resources utilized in the operation of the school District. It ensures that Senior Management is provided with a timely and accurate overview of operation energy cost, usage patterns, technology applications, budget forecasting and critical functional needs.

There are three complementing work units staffing the M-DCPS Energy Management task force. These are:
Energy Cost Containment Program (ECCP).

The ECCP primary objective establishes a systematic method that plan, define and implement activities to determine the feasibility of energy conservation opportunities. This entails evaluating the application of diverse industrial products, systems and services conducive to arrest and reduction of utilities consumption district-wide.
Guaranteed Energy Performance Contracting (GEPC).

The GEPC scope of work involves the formulation and design of cost-effective conservation projects to be carried out throughout the District. Energy service companies are contractually bound to realize a measurable guaranteed cost avoidance (“savings”) of operation energy cost, as it increases due to the expansion of educational facilities.
Energy Systems Control Station (ESCS).

The ESCS is a centrally integrated computerized system network capable to send operational parameter variable setting commands, equipment performance control and real time remote monitoring display of the physical plant status; this by means of on-site microprocessors programmed to establish an energy efficient facility.
